Victorian Vanity Fair Cartoon, ‘A hard rider’, by GAF, dated March 31st 1898

Captian David Longfield Beatty (1841-1904) was featured in the Vanity Fair series Men of the Day in 1898, he was described as follows: "…he was born to sport; began hunting before he was ten and has not ceased doing so."
