More about this product
Alabastro Fiorito was a prestigious variety of non-porous travertine, favoured by the Romans for architecture and decoration. It is notable for its colourful, well figured appearance and hardness. Richly patterned, red, yellow and brown coloured travertines, such as this table-top, are often the result of having been situated close to hot springs, which produce iron oxides from the action of cyanobacteria living in the warm water.
