With plank top on turned supports joined by S-shaped stretcher
Tables of this type were luxury items, few were made at this time, and surviving examples in good condition are accordingly rare. Spanish tables in this plank top form with iron stretchers were generally made from walnut, and the present table being made of fruitwood, probably cherry, with its reddy brown overtones and light colour, is particularly unusual. This table bears various characteristics of tables that were made in Mallorca, possibly Deya: the use of fruitwood, the narrow plank construction, the ball and column turnings and the arched iron stretcher.
