More about this product
Each lithograph is numbered. All in later giltwood faux bamboo frames.
This rare set of plates are taken from a larger book of 39 illustrated plates by Cuciniello and Bianchi. They commemorate the Neapolitan Carnival of 1827, when the King of Naples, Francesco I, together with members of the royal family, attended the Teatro Reale di San Carlo, dressed in fashionable Persian costume. The images and descriptions were published in Descrizione e disegni della mascherata che intervenne al real teatro di S. Carlo il carnevale dell' anno 1827. Naples: Stamperia Reale, 1827.
