After qualifying as a cabinet maker in 1922, Johannes Andersen (1903-1991) opened his own architectural and furniture practice in the mid-1930’s and collaborated with many Scandinavian companies, such as CFC Silkeborg, Trensum, Bramin and Uldum Møbelfabrik until he closed his shop in the 1980s.
Andersen is renowned for a successful combination of practical design and high-quality production. His career reflects the growing admiration and appetite for Danish furniture pieces in the mid 20th Century.
