BEAR is situated in a Grade II listed building in the historic town of Petworth, West Sussex. As an independent business founded in 2020, our goal is to offer an interesting and beautiful mix of pieces for the home and soul. We choose each piece for its aesthetic merits, quality and enduring design rather than being confined to a period or place of production. Beauty and simplicity allow us to make lasting, sustainable lifestyle choices, which is our fundamental ethic. 

We have a passion for the freedom and simplicity of expression exemplified by architects and designers of the Mid Century Modern era, particularly from Europe and the USA, and our stock comprises pieces by well-known names.

Meeting the same criteria, we stock interesting antique pieces from all over the world, including Europe, Asia and the Middle East. If we do not have what you are looking for, either modern or antique, we operate a sourcing service. We are also pleased to offer a growing range of traditional and contemporary style furniture and lamps made exclusively for BEAR by craftsmen in West Sussex. Our soft furnishings also are locally made.
